    Eligibility

    • Current SHRM member (professional or student)
    • Enrolled in a degree-seeking undergraduate or graduate program
    • University is an accredited institution of higher learning
    • Degree program is HR-related (e.g. business, psychology, HR, org development, etc.)

    How to Apply

    Online application (opens February 15) and includes:

    • Contact information
    • Video (two minutes or less) that explains:
      • Your interest/experience in HR
      • Your personal or professional "road block" and what this opportunity means to you

     

     

    Selection Criteria

    • A committee formed by the SHRM Foundation will vet all scholarship applications and the strongest applicant videos will be sent to Give50 club members to review and vote on.

    Additional Information

    Funds may be used for any combination of tuition, books or other course-related fees. Each scholarship is a one-time award; however previous applicants and past scholarship recipients are eligible to re-apply. Full-time, part-time, online and distance learning programs are acceptable. Scholarships are for college-degree programs only, and may not be used to attend professional development seminars.

    Scholarship recipients will be required to provide a Social Security Number or tax ID, evidence of enrollment in an HR-related program of study, and an official college transcript in order to claim their award. Applicants who have already completed their studies are not eligible for this award and may not apply for a scholarship to cover past expenses. 

    By submitting an application for a SHRM Foundation scholarship, you are consenting to allow the SHRM Foundation (and the award's sponsor, if any) to use without limitation, and in any media, your name, city, state, photos and captions (if uploaded), portrait, voice, likeness, and verbiage for marketing and promotional purposes.

    Employees or board members of SHRM or the SHRM Foundation and members of their immediate family are not eligible to apply for SHRM Foundation grants, awards or scholarships.
