    Breaking Barriers: Inclusive Hiring Practices for Employers

    Cierra Johnson-Belser is a multi-talented individual who wears many hats. She is a mother, a vocalist, an arts advocate, and a SHRM volunteer. Moreover, she is a workforce development guru, who has been working in the sector for over 8 years. Cierra is originally from Escondido, California, but she grew up in Sylacauga, AL and is a Huntingdon College alumnus with a degree in Communications. She started her career path working for a small woman-owned staffing company and has worked on large staffing projects with corporations such as Target, Amazon, and Toyota, where she quickly fell in love with the Automobile industry. She specializes in working with major automotive manufacturers and their Suppliers.

    Cierra has received several awards and recognitions for her excellent work, including the BBJ Leaders in Diversity Award, the SAI Top 150 Women in Staffing, and the Focus Empower Top 40 over 40. She is currently active on the state level as a member of Alabama’s Technical Advisory Committee, SHRM Montgomery Chapter President, and a board member for the Alabama Arts Alliance. Additionally, Cierra is the North Alabama Lead for the Women in Manufacturing Alabama chapter and works as the Vice President of Strategic Growth for Sirius Talent, which is a certified MBE. She is a 2022 nominee for the Alabama Woman of the Year Award and received the 2022 Birmingham Citizenship Award for her work in the community.

    Apart from her numerous achievements, Cierra is a mother of two children, a 16-year-old pageant queen and a 13-year-old future baseball star. She enjoys working as a career coach and helping individuals perfect their resumes and teaching them interview skills to help them land their dream job.
